Spain is a member country of the Hague Apostille Convention and any document coming from Spain needs to be apostilled to be used in other member countries. Spain became a member of the Hague Apostille Convention on September 25, 1978.

If the documents issued in Spain are originally in Spanish and need to be used in the UAE, apostille will not be accepted. The original certificates need to be verified by the Spanish Ministry of Justice, Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for background verification, then it will be attested at the UAE Embassy in Madrid. Finally, it will be legalized by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The documents will then need to be translated into English or Arabic as per the requirement.
